Baker, Robertson agree with Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Left-hander Nate Robertson and utilityman Jeff Baker have agreed to minor league contracts with the Texas Rangers.

Baker hit .266 with 37 homers in 543 games during the last eight seasons with Colorado (2005-09), the Chicago Cubs (2009-12), Detroit (2012) and Atlanta (2012). He hit .239 with four homers and 25 RBIs in 83 games last season.

Baker has started games at first, second and third base and in the outfield.

The 35-year-old Robertson last pitched in the majors in 2010. He was 57-77 in 223 games for Florida (2002), Detroit (2003-09), Florida (2010) and Philadelphia (2010).

Texas announced the agreements Saturday.
