Tigers 3B Inge has surgery on knees
DETROIT (AP) Detroit Tigers All-Star third baseman Brandon Inge has undergone surgery on both knees.
The team said Wednesday the procedure at the Detroit Medical Center addressed chronic patellar tendinitis that plagued Inge last season. The procedure on Tuesday involved the repair of the patellar tendon in both knees.
Inge is expected to be ready for the start of spring training in February. The 32-year-old native of Lynchburg, Va., hit .230 with 27 home runs and 84 RBIs in 161 games.
