Analysis: Putz, an All-Star in 2007 with Seattle, was injured in the ninth inning of the Diamondbacks' 5-3 victory on Tuesday night and was replaced by former three-time All-Star closer Heath Bell. Bell got three outs for his second save of the season. Putz is 2-1 with five saves and a 4.26 ERA in 14 appearances this year. He is in his third season with Arizona, having recorded a career-high 45 saves in 2001 and 32 last year. |
