Chicago signed the 35-year-old Soriano to a pro-rated contract on June 12. Soriano, who spent the past two years with Washington, has yet to play this season. He recently fired agent Scott Boras and is reportedly scheduled to hold a workout in the Dominican Republic on Thursday.
