Analysis: Promoted from Triple-A Colorado Springs before the game for his second stint with the Rockies this season, Chatwood (2-0, 2.55 ERA) had a shaky second inning but settled in after that and handcuffed the Giants, who managed one run and six hits in 5 2-3 innings.

Analysis: This is Chatwood's second stint with the Rockies this season. He went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two starts earlier this season for Colorado. Chatwood was 2-1 with a 3.14 ERA, five walks and 29 strikeouts in five starts for Colorado Springs. Chatwood is 12-17 with a 4.86 career ERA in 48 appearances in the majors for the Angels (2011) and Rockies (2012-13).

To make room on the 25-man roster Wednesday, the Rockies optioned righty Rob Scahill to Colorado Springs.
Analysis: The 23-year-old Chatwood was 1-0 with a 1.84 ERA with 17 strikeouts and four walks in three starts with Colorado Springs this season. In 2012, Chatwood was the youngest member of the Rockies' opening day roster and finished the season 5-6 with a 5.43 ERA in 19 games, including 12 starts. He is 11-17 with a 4.97 ERA in 46 appearances - 37 starts - in his major league career.
